California Dreamin’

10 Apr
coachellaa
There’s a lot of things that, as a student, I can’t afford. And apart from steak and champagne, the most upsetting thing beyond financial reach is a golden ticket to Coachella. Every year since I could discern that the Californian desert line up was the ultimate music amalgam to ever exist, I’ve wanted to go. Tomorrow marks the beginning of the first weekend, and again, I won’t be there.
However, I am absolutely adamant that one day, I will. So for that day, here is a collage of the outfits I would wear in that desert among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars.

OOTD: At Knutsford Artisan Fair

6 Apr

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I know I haven’t been writing an awful lot lately, and giving you extended picture diaries instead but that is because I’m so busy at the moment what with being voted the new editor-in-chief of Liberty Belle Magazine! In the next few weeks, I’m in Manchester and I should be posting a lot more.

I’m currently sat on my sofa at home with a Natural Valley Ginger Nut Crunch Bar, despite having a monster burrito and some petits fours at Knutsford’s monthly artisan festival just an hour ago. As a student, you must stock up on food that you are offered by mum. I’m also wearing her sweater and necklace….

Good to be home.

April Fool’s Day courtesy of the fashion industry: faceless Victoria’s Secret Angels take the place of the usual row of weirdly dressed models. Classic Leandra Medine.

“I’m going to dress for men from now on…

Oh wait, NO I’M NOT”

Have a fab April, lovers.

Is it sad that I can name all those VS models…?

Things I Literally Need : Stella & Bow Bracelet

1 Apr

Can you think back to 2004?

Ten whole years of hormones and Harry Potter releases ago feels like an awful long time, and you might need some serious mind yoga to remember it.

Never fear, the loopy and intensely tuned-in fashion world is here to rescue you!

Aptly entitled the ‘Burn Book Capsule Collection’, the LA-based jewellery brand has created a range of pieces that every one that has ever seen Mean Girls – which came out in 2004 –  literally needs. Of course, due to the rules of supply and demand, there are not enough for this to work, so basically you need to get one before it’s too late.

Little hearts engraved with ‘Fetch’ and those broken hearted double necklaces we used to have when we were little that said ‘best friends’, except this time they say ‘Best Bitches.’ And then, this gold plated bracelet. So fetch.

Things I Literally Need : Sheinside LAME Sweater

26 Mar

lame

Alongside The Burger Connoisseur, “Things I Literally Need” is a new and permanent instalment on my blog.

The thing with fashion is that it is necessary. Sure, you could walk round in bare foot, but it’d hurt right? So we wear shoes. And the truth of the matter is, why would you wear shapeless, shuffly flats when there are things such as Isabel Marant Dicker boots and Valentino RockStud flats available for our feet? Food for thought.

This sweater is from Sheinside.com and it’s only £11. That, my friends, is a week of okay food for one, or a lifetime of being able to wear a sweater that says ‘Lame’ on it in inappropriate situations (such as exams). Your choice.

OOTD – DIY and Wolf Online

25 Mar

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs a very strict rule, I am not a DIY’er. I am intensely clumsy and should not therefore, be allowed in the presence of scissors. This weekend though, I approached the scissors, picked them up, and actually managed to use them without drawing blood. By DIY’ing the old jeans that I have come to hate, I have turned them into a ripped magnificence and it feels as though I have new jeans, which is great because I am feeling the student poverty hard at the moment.

Will you please take a look at the rings I’m wearing and gasp as is only appropriate in the presence of such beauty. They are from Wolf Online, which is a home made and beautiful boutique all the way over in Australia. The delivery is free WORLDWIDE and the prices are extremely decent anyway. Safe to say, I love them to pieces and I’d be really disappointed if you didn’t go and check them out right now here.
