Les Parisiennes

Paris. It’s the sartorial capital of the world. It’s the only fashion week that really matters. It’s skinny jeans, utilitarian tees, monochrome, blackened eyes and absolutely no platform heels.

As perfectly epitomised by Team Vogue Paris, the look is probably the sexiest, most insouciant and beautiful of them all. As I’m visiting the city tomorrow, I’m throwing some Isabel Marant/Carine Roitfeld/Emmanuelle Alt/Clemence Poesy vibes around to help me pack tonight.

Isabel Marant is my favourite designer of all time. She’s the reason for hidden-wedge trainers, the baseball jacket craze and Aztec-patterned everything – but especially those jeans (see modelled by Team French Vogue – top).

And then there’s the Yves Saint Laurent re-vamp. Now Heidi Slimane’s Saint Laurent Paris rivals my love of Marant. The fedoras and the sheer! The pussy bows and trouser suits!

Clemence Poesy is dangerously close to perfect. Apart from being absolutely stunning, she has starred in Harry Potter, Gossip Girl – as Chuck’s lover, no less, and is a fashion model with the Parisian insouciance down to a T.
